A person has hacked to death his own friend in an inebriated state on Wednesday.

Nirmal Sarki, of Chaurjahari Municipality – 14 killed Akal Bahadur Khadka, 45, of the same locality with an axe, District Police Office, Rukum said.

The two were drinking together when they got into a minor dispute after which Sarki attacked his friend with an axe and a shovel at his own house, a preliminary investigation has revealed, said Inspector Thamman Bahadur Rajali.

The locals say that Sarki and his wife Kamala Sarki attacked with the axe when the fight broke out. The police have arrested both and launched further investigation into the incident. The body of the deceased has been sent to the district hospital in Salle for an autopsy. RSS
