Police on Wednesday arrested a man in possession of a leopard hide from Patan of Baitadi district.
The suspect has been identified as Mahesh Singh Sutar of Shivanath Municipality-6.
According to police Inspector Hariom Khadka of the District Police Office, Baitadi, the seized leopard hide was five feet nine inch long and two feet wide.
Sutar has been handed over to the District Forest Office today itself for necessary action, Inspector Khadka informed.
He was slapped with six months jail term along with Rs 20,000 fine, informed assistant Forest Officer Ram Prasad Chaudhary of the District Forest Office, Baitadi. RSS
