Leaders of various student unions affiliated to different political parties held a meeting with Education Minister Dhaniram Poudel on Tuesday and demanded withdrawal of fee hike in private schools.
In response, Minister Poudel said he was serious about the issue and assured the delegation of taking initiatives from his side to take out the move by private schools, said a delegation member Rashmi Acharya, also acting chairperson of the All Nepal National Free Students Union.
The organisations claimed that private educational institutions have increased tuition fee by up to 200 percent from this academic session, ranging from admission and monthly fees. RSS
