The demand for power in the morning is 895 Mega watt against around 950 to 1,200 MW in the evening. However, the demand for power in the morning is constant unlike in the evening. More than two-third of the demand for power is from Kathmandu valley.
The demand during the day is around 800 MW.
Power is not supplied to the industries in the evening to meet demands in other sectors. Power to the industrial corridor is stopped from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. But since power is supplied to the industries in the morning, managing power is challenging, the NEA has said.
"Managing the morning demand is new and complex in terms of experience, but we have been successful in addressing it", NEA Executive Director Kulman Ghising said. RSS
