The agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha cadres manhandled the CPN-UML Mahottari district Chairman Jamun Mandal on Thursday afternoon.
The incident took place when he was attending a town committee meeting of the party related to the upcoming local level elections.
As the meeting was underway at Fulhatta of Jaleswar municipality-18, a group of 50 to 60 Morcha cadres foiled the meeting and physically assaulted district Chair Mandal.
The cadres also vandalised chairs used for the meeting. RSS
