Madhu Bohara, of Shuklaphanta Municipality-4, Kanchanpur, has quit her job of a school principal to contest in the upcoming local level elections.
Bohara, who was the principal of Kalika Secondary School until recently, is running for the deputy mayor candidate.
According to her, she wants to impart the message that women too can take leadership and bring change in her society by contesting in the May 14 polls. Bohara has already launched her election campaign with the hope of winning ticket from Nepali Congress.
She plans to streamline the management in the education sector, make health services reliable and facilitate transportation and communications services.
