Saptari
Chairman of Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party, Sharad Singh Bhandari, on Tuesday said that “persistent discrimination against Madhes will disintegrate the country”.
He said at a press meet in Rajbiraj, Saptari, that the country should end discrimination against Madhes and Madhesi people or there will be a revolt.
Bhandari urged the government and the concerned political parties to ensure the rights of the Madhesi people by amending the “discriminatory provisions” in the constitution.
He also warned the government against holding the local level elections, excluding Province-2. There could be a conflict if the local elections are held without addressing the concerns of Madhes, he warned.
