Five Madhes-based parties, who had warned of boycotting the local level elections, have registered themselves with the Banke Election Office.

The Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal, the Nepal Sadbhawana Party, the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Ganatantrik and the Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party registered their party names at the election office.

Twenty-six parties have been registered for the elections in the district. Preparations for the elections are going smoothly in the region, according to Basanta Adhikari, election officer at the Regional Election Office. (PR)
