An 11-member expedition team of India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has left Namche Bazaar in its bid to scale Mt Everest.
According to the Embassy of India in Nepal, this is the first time a corporate is in a mission to send a team to the peak of highest mountain in the world. Capt S K Sangwan, manager (human resource) of ONGC is leading the 11-member contingent.
More than 150 Everest aspirants underwent a strenuous selection process before the final team for the Summit was picked, said the embassy, adding that the entire selection and training took nearly 15 months.
