More than 1,000 violators of traffic rules are booked every day in the Valley.
According to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD), the majority of them face disciplinary actions for breaching the lane discipline, parking in undesignated places, driving under the influence (more popularly known as mapase) and driving without licence.
Traffic officials said more than 2,000 vehicles are monitored, and over 1,000 rule violators are booked every single day. The number of road accidents has dropped significantly since the anti-drink driving campaign was enforced in December 2011, said Deputy Superintendent Binod Ghimire at the MTPD. (PR)
