The Social Justice and Human Rights Committee of Parliament has directed the government to send a team of experts to the disputed Nepal-India border areas soon.
A meeting of the committee on Friday asked the government to send experts to the areas including Punarbas of Kanchanpur to resolve disputes, in consensus with Indian authorities, said Sanjay Dahal, a committee under-secretary.
It also sought compensation for the family of Govinda Gautam, who was killed in firing by the Sashartra Seema Bal of India in the Nepali territory, and to provide relief for the other injured. The meeting formed a five-member team led by Ongdi Sherpa to probe the death of Kundan Thapa, an eighth grader at a Nepal Police school.
