The agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) cadres and leaders have locked up the office of the District Coordination Committee and Jaleshwar Municipality in Mahottari district in protest of the new local body restructuring on Friday.

They went to these offices at around 11 am and padlocked the main doors by forcing the staffers out of their offices.

According to SLMM Coordinator Ram Naresh Raya, their demand is to rename the District Coordination Committee as the District Development Committee and let the local bodies function as per the older structure.

Due to this, the services to be rendered to the service-seekers have been disrupted. RSS
