PM Dahal is leaving for China on Thursday to participate in the Boao Forum for Asia to be held in Hainan province on March 23-27.
“During my visit, I would focus on trade resumption through Tatopani border, upgradation of the Araniko Highway and implementation of pacts signed with China in the past,” he told a delegation of Nepal Truck Container Association on Wednesday. Tatopani border is closed since 2015 April after the deadly earthquake destroyed majority of its parts.
The delegation members said that about 1,500 entrepreneurs have been facing problems due to the closure of Tatopani border. “The government has failed to pay heed to our difficulties despite repeated requests,” he said.
Stating that Tatopani border is the cornerstone of Nepal-China ties, the truckers also drew PM Dahal’s attention to lack of seriousness on the part of government agencies to open the trading point.
