Noting that the new constitution has granted important legislative, executive, and judicial rights to the people, PM Dahal said the local level election is indispensable to delegate the Singha Durbar-centric power to villages.
“The prolonged transition will leave the people disappointed and the regressive forces will rear their heads,” said PM Dahal while receiving an annual report of National Information Commission in the Capital on Thursday.
He said that the right to information is a pillar of democracy. “Democracy will be stronger only if the right to information could be made effective as it will ensure the flow of the information to the target group,” said PM Dahal.
He added that election and political competition should be accepted in a true democracy. “We have problems in developing and adopting the culture of democracy,” he said.
