Police have recovered all of the missing weapons that were looted by CK Raut supporters during a protest at Marchawar in Rupandehi.
Coordinator of the Independent Madhes campaign Raut was arrested from Janakpur on February 2 and was sent to Siraha. Raut’s supporters had clashed with the police on February 19 during a demonstration seeking the release of their leader.
Raut supporters had made away with a Self-loading rifle (SLR), a gas gun, one magazine, seven rounds of bullets and seven tear gas canisters during the clash. The SLR gun was recovered the same day.
Rupandehi Police Office SP Rabindra Dhanuk said that the rest of the weapons were recovered from a Silautiya –based farm near the Bagauli Police office in Marchawar.
