A leopard entered into a dense human settlement in Gothatar-1, Kathmandu early on Tuesday and spent the entire day on a tree. The locals were terrified after they spotted the leopard on the tree.

According to a local Surya Bahadur KC, 55, who caught sight of the leopard at first, the big cat climbed on the tree at around 6 in the morning. Passers-by gathered around the tree to get a glimpse of leopard on the tree.

Officials from the Department of Forest Kathmandu and Central Zoo arrived on the scene to shoot tranquilliser dart, but to no avail. 

Apparently the leopard entered the settlement in search of prey. It preyed on a stray dog before climbing the tree after daybreak.
