PM Agri Modernisation Project programmes fail to take off

Although Rs 31.62 million has been allocated for implementing the programmes through the District Agricultural Development Office, Bara, the programmes have not been implemented even eight months after the budget allocation under this head.
The Ministry of Agriculture had provided Rs 44.565 million for implementing various programmes in the district through the district agricultural development office for the fiscal year 2017/2018.
Programmes like the President Chure Tarai Madhes Conservation Programme with a budget outlay of Rs 4.085 million, the cooperatives farming and small irrigation programme with a budgetary outlay of Rs 3.9 million, the fine-grain and aromatic paddy production programme with an outlay of Rs 2.16 million, the special agricultural production programme with a budget of one million rupees and the integrated crop and water management programme with a budgetary outlay of Rs 660 thousand have not taken off.
