Tempo drivers operating Indian number plate vehicles obstructed Nepal-India border for an hour on Wednesday.
The irked drivers demanded that Indian tempos should be allowed to operate at Gaur buspark of Nepal. They said it was unfair to suddenly displace the vehicles that were operating across the border for a long time.
They protested at Miteri Bridge connecting Rautahat’s Gaur customs and Indian’s Bairganiya from 11:45am to 12:45pm today by laying tempos at the bridge thereby blocking movement through the bridge.
The protesters have warned of indefinite border blockade if their demands were not heard by Thursday. Security forces from both sides were present at the scene when the protest took place, it is learnt.
