A seven-year-old boy was found dead inside a trunk in his house at Panchakule VDC-8 in Dang on Sunday.

Police suspected that the boy, Dipesh Dangi, could have died of asphyxia after accidentally getting locked inside the trunk.

Dipesh, who was missing since Saturday night, was found dead by his grandmother when she opened the trunk to take out her shawl.

He was found clutching a ten rupee note.

Police said he might have dropped the money in the trunk and got locked in while trying to retrieve it.
