The disgruntled workers have been staging a sit-in protest in front of the office since Friday. Saroj Bhattarai, chief engineer of the LDT, said all works concerning the Lumbini Master Plan have been affected because of the workers’ protest.
Sudarshan Maharjan, vice-chairman of the LDT, who is currently in Kathmandu to discuss the workers’ demand with the concerned authorities, said he alone was incapable of addressing the demands raised by the workers.
The protesting workers have demanded, among others, permanent employment and the benefits that comes with it, and investigation into the irregularities at the management level.
