President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal have congratulated Donald J. Trump, the 45th president of the United States of America, on assuming the high office. In separate messages, President Bhandari and PM Dahal stated that Nepal and the US enjoy cordial relations.

Bhandari, recalling that Nepal and the US had established diplomatic ties in 1947, noted that relations between the two countries were based on mutual trust, understanding, goodwill and cooperation. Extending his best wishes to Trump, PM Dahal expressed his belief that Nepal-US relations would grow stronger during his presidency. Dahal extended gratitude for the American support to Nepal’s development efforts.
