“As we had been more engaged in urban centres and the government after the peace process, other parties went to districts and captured our vote banks,” Poudel said, while addressing the fourth unity gathering of Syangja-Kathmandu Janasamparka Manch on Saturday. The Maoist Centre should now reach out to the people in the districts and regain their trust, he added.
Another leader Amrita Thapa Magar said as Syangja district has contributed a lot for the people’s rights, the coordination committee could play a crucial role to reestablish party’s link between the peoples of Syangja and the Capital. The gathering elected a 39-member committee under Dayanidhi Poudel.
