Bhattarai died at his aunt’s house in Biratnagar, his family members confirmed. He had been suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes.
“We have lost a very close member of our team and the Nepali entertainment industry has lost a good comedian and a hard working artist,” fellow actor and scriptwriter Deepa Shree Niraula told the Post.
Before making his name in television, Bhattarai cut his teeth in acting on stage. He also appeared in a smattering of films, worked as the production manager for the film “Chha Ekan Chha”, and released three albums, including his debut hit “Jay Bhudi”, a collection of parody songs. A Biratnagar native, Bhattarai lived in Kathmandu with his wife, their two sons and his mother.
