Indian advance team arriving today
An Indian advance team comprising security, protocol, foreign ministry officials is arriving in Kathmandu on Thursday to assess security and other logistics ahead of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to Nepal beginning November 2.An Indian advance team comprising security, protocol, foreign ministry officials is arriving in Kathmandu on Thursday to assess security and other logistics ahead of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to Nepal beginning November 2.
Mukherjee will be in Nepal for three days at the invitation of President Bidhya Devi Bhandari. While in Nepal, Mukherjee is also scheduled to visit Janakpur, Pokhara and Lumbini. “We will officially announced the details once clearance from the advance team,” said a senior Indian diplomat.
According to sources, in Janakpur, the Indian president will grace a civic reception and offer prayers at the Ram Janaki temple.
He is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone of a section of the Hulaki Road. Mukherjee is also scheduled to deliver speeches at the Kathmandu University and India Foundation, a think tank initiated by BJP Secretary General Ram Madhav.
