With Parliament endorsing three bills on Sunday to restructure the judiciary, the way has been cleared for the establishment of High Courts by the September 18 constitutional deadline. The laws concern Judicial Service, Judicial Council and Judicial Service Commission, and Judicial Administration. The existing 16 Appellate Courts will be scrapped after the formation of a High Court in each of the seven provinces. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Shankar Nayak said the laws are important for implementing the new constitution.
