The standing committee meeting of the CPN-UML concluded on Tuesday, finalising the coordinators and joint coordinators of all seven provinces.
According to the standing committee’s decision, Bhim Acharya will lead Province 1 with Sherdhan Rai as joint coordinator; Satya Narayan Mandal will lead Province 2 with Nagendra Chaudhary as joint coordinator; Asta Laxmi Shakya to lead Province 3 with Kashinath Adhikari as joint
coordinator; Kiran Gurung is the coordinator of Province 4 with Ganesh Timilsina as joint coordinator; Bishnu Prasad Poudel will lead Province 5 with Dal Bahadur Rana as his deputy; Yubaraj
Gyawali will lead Province 6 with Yam Lal Kandel as his deputy and Bhim Bahadur Rawal will lead Province 7 with Karna Bahadur Thapa as his joint coordinator.
Similarly the standing committee meeting has also divided responsibilities of the leaders, including those involved in the previous governments. As per the new
provision, Deputy General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal will coordinate overseas affairs (India); Mahendra Bahadur Pande will look after the Youth sector; Lal Babu Pandit will lead the party’s political affairs; Radha Gyawali will head the women sector; Agni Kharel will take charge of local development and Hari Parajuli will be the joint-incharge of the peasants sector.
