A French woman was found dead at Chiuri Bheer, Tindobato VDC-3 here in the district. Police have identified the victim as Melanie Fernande Odette.

On August 12, police had found a bag containing a French passport, clothes, diary, among other items from the location. Police suspect that Melanie died on the same day.

According to Police Inspector Uttam Baral, the dead body has been sent to Kathmandu-based Teaching Hospital for post mortem.

As the body has decayed, it is hard to say whether the woman was killed or died of falling off the cliff, police say. Inspector Baral informed that investigation is underway to ascertain the case.
