Shanta Dixit, spouse of noted journalist Kanakmani Dixit presently in confinement of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), registered a writ of habeas corpus at the Supreme Court arguing that the arrest of Dixit is illegal. 

Journo Dixit is also the chairman of Sajha Yatayat Cooperatives Limited. The writ has named the CIAA and the Special Court as defendants. It may be noted that earlier on April 14, the Special Court allowed the CIAA to keep Dixit in custody for 10 days for investigation into the charges levelled against him. He was arrested by the CIAA on April 22 on the charge of amassing illegal property by abusing public post. RSS
