Police promotion based on meritocracy: IGP Aryal
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Upendra Kant Aryal has said promotion of police officials will be entirely based on meritocracy and not on the basis of favouritism or blessings.Speaking at a function in Nepal Police Headquarters in Naxal, Kathmandu, on Sunday, IGP Aryal said the institution is always striving to make promotions more transparent and systematic.
"We will not keep any position vacant and promotions will all be based on performance," said IGP Aryal.
The function was organised to confer insignia to recently promoted police officials including Deputy Inspector General of Police Sudip Acharya, Senior Superintendent of Police Binod Sharma Ghimire, Superintendent of Police Deepak Thapa, Arjun Chand Thakuri and Pawan Kumar Giri.
Similarly, insignia was also offered to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Bhujel, Narendra Chand, Govinda Raj Kafle, Pradeep Bahadur Cheetri, Angur GC, Dhakendra Khatiwada, Yadav Dhakal, Shyam Babu Oliya, Narayan Ranjitkar, Niranjan Dutta Bhatta, Rajan Limbu, Santosh Tamang, Ek Narayan KOirala, Ananta Ram Sharma, Binod Ghimire, Dr Amin Kumar Shrestha, Dr Suwarna Kunwar, Dr Sangya Malla, Uma Gyawali and Undeshwori Tiwari.
