Gachhadar said that as per the agreement, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, the two big parties in the Constituent Assembly, would divide the government and the post of president. Similarly, UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal (MJF-Nepal) will share the vice president and the speaker of the House.

Speaking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport, Gachhadar underlined need for the formation of an effective and powerful government after the constitution but also claimed that his party, MJF-Nepal, had not laid claims to any posts. He termed that the 16-point deal signed among parties as historical and said that it would fulfill the aspirations of the people.

Hinting towards the dissent among some fringe parties, including some Madhesi parties, towards the signing of the 16-point pact, Gachhadar said that objections from a small political section would not hamper the constitution drafting process. “The agreement has received national and international support. This is a victory of Madhesi region. Those protesting it are against federalism and republicanism,” he said.

Upon asked about his expulsion from the Madhesi alliance after the signing of the deal, Gachhadar responded by saying that the alliance was formed under his initiation and the decision to oust him from the alliance would hold no meaning.
