Gandaki School alumni start rehabilitation project
The Ex-Gandaki Boarding Students’ Association (EGBOSA), an alumni association of Gandaki Higher Secondary Boarding School, has been extending their support to the victims of the Great EarthqEGBOSA—through its humanitarian campaign Nepal Earthquake Relief Project, 2015—distributed materials for building temporary shelters to 50 most-affected and low-income families. Each family received 2 bundles CGI Sheets, GI wires, nails and construction tools. The management of the relief materials, as well as construction of temporary shelters, will be overseen by a committee which has been formed out of the 50 families under the coordination of Arjun Duwadi, a social leader of the village, a statement released by the association read.
The statement read: “Identifying Dhola VDC in Dhading district as a needy village for relief after the meticulous assessment done on May 9, the EGBOSA
team prepared a detailed report with the list of 50 most needy family and finalised an action plan for the relief project with the fund that has been donated by the members of the organisation, non-member Ex-Gandakian, or independent and registered organisation from around the globe.”
“Our humanitarian support includes shelter support in phase one relief campaign and reconstruction of public school in phase two. The phase three project includes rainwater collection, sanitation, medical support through health camps and long-term child education support projects,” the statement read.
