Cyclone Hudhud causes rainfall across Nepal
The strongest tropical cyclone of 2014 named ‘Hudhud’ within the North Indian Ocean has induced rainfall across the country.Ekantipur Report
According to meteorologist at the department, Barun Paudel, Hudhud has not entered Nepal directly, yet its effect has stirred the condensed clouds towards Nepali sky through the Bay of Bengal thereby affecting the weather of Central and Western regions.
The Hudhud effect has caused heavy rainfall in Kathmandu, Bhairahawa, Pokhara, Surkhet and Dang, among other places, while the weather of various other places have also been hugely affected.
“While the tropical cyclone Hudhud is continuously shifting towards north-west direction, clouds in Nepal are also shifting from east to west,” the department said.
The cyclone Hudhud, reclassified as ‘very severe’ storm, hit Andhra Pradesh state in India on Sunday from India’s east coast and started weakening as it moved towards north-west later Sunday afternoon.
The department has forecasted that their will be some improvement in the weather of eastern Nepal from Wednesday. “However, the western Nepal will witness clear weather on Thursday,” said Paudel.
