Bimala Tamang bagged a bronze medal in women's Karate Kata performance competition, defeating Jyu Kang of host country by 5-0 at Gyeyang Gymnasium today.
Earlier in the day, Bimala defeated Kulsoom of Pakistan 4-1 in quarterfinal to reach the semifinal. But she lost to Nguyen Hoang Ngan of Vietnam 5-0 in the semi-final.
Prior to this, Nepal had won a bronze medal in the 16th Asian Games held at China in 2010. Deepak Maharjan had won the medal for Nepal in boxing.
