A delegation led CPN-UML Dhading-3 lawmaker Rajendra Pandey including Adhikari's relatives met Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam at the latter's offical residence in Pulchowk on Thursday and demanded investigation into what they call an unlawful killing of Adhikari.

In response, Minister Gautam assured Adhikari's relatives of probing Adhikari's death.

Adhikari was gunned down by police at Bhimdhunga, seven kilometers from Sitapaila, on Wednesday evening. Police have alleged that they opened shots in retaliation after motorcycle-borne Adhikari opened fire at the police team that was following him noticing some suspicious activities. Police claimed that they knew about his identity only after his helmet came off his head.

Adhikari was UML´s regional vice-chairman of Dhading district Constituency-1.

Meanwhile, Adhikari's family members have refused to receive his body saying that they won't receive the body until the reality of Chari's death was made public.
