Apex College’s Apex Fit Fest is back after a two-year hiatus. The three-day fest kicked off on Monday with the theme ‘Clock it or remain the same’. For this year’s fest, the festival’s organising committee, which the college’s students lead, have chosen to highlight the importance of mental health and that caring for one’s mental and emotional well-being is as crucial as taking care if physical health.
The first day of the festival, also called the pre-event, began with musical performances by students and staff. Various games were organised, and the winners were given gift hampers from Poshilo Foods, eSewa, Paradise Garden Restaurant and Events, and Studio Lumos. Visitors also made the most of the food stalls and the free dental camp.
On the second day of the fest, a drama on mental health was staged. The day’s open mic event saw performances by students and visitors. Shantanu Sharma, a motivational speaker, also shared his words of wisdom to the students and visitors. Like the first day, the second day also had competitive games, and the winners took home gift hampers.
Wednesday is the festival’s final day, and the highlight will be a Zumba session choreographed by Sweta Subedi, a student at Apex, and fitness trainers Baba Theeng and Madan Thapa.
“With the Zumba session, our motive is to let people know that fitness and entertainment can go hand in hand,” said a student of Apex Fest Fit 2022 organising committee.
