A joint team from the Department of Revenue Investigation and Nepal Police on Thursday raided over half a dozen clothing warehouses in New Road over alleged revenue evasion.
A total of six staffers working at the warehouses were also arrested during the raid for further investigation, police said, adding that warehouses proprietors Anil Agrawal and Giridhaari Agrawal are out of contact.
Dil Bahadur Malla, Deputy Superintendent of Police at Metropolitan Police Circle, Janasewa, said they have launched a manhunt to nab the proprietors on the run.
The department started an investigation after it was tipped off that clothes imported by evading revenues were stored in the warehouses and sent to market.
