Driver killed, three injured in Salyan jeep crash
Vehicle plunges 400 metres off Rapti Highway in Kapurkot.Biplab Maharjan
A jeep accident in Salyan district on Wednesday morning killed the driver and injured three others.
The jeep was travelling from Rukum East to Tulsipur of Dang when it crashed at Chorkhola in ward 3 of Kapurkot Rural Municipality along the Rapti Highway.
The driver, 30-year-old Bijay BK of Amalachaur, ward 4 of Sisne Rural Municipality in Rukum East, died at the scene.
The injured include 22-year-old Susmi Roka of ward 2 of Sisne, her two-year-old daughter Safalta KC, and 38-year-old Lalita KC of ward 4 of Sisne. They were initially treated at Kapurkot Basic Hospital and later referred to the Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur for further treatment, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Hem Bahadur KC, chief of the District Police Office, Salyan.
Police said the jeep went out of control and fell around 400 metres off the road. There were four people on board at the time of the accident.
