Death toll in Rukum West jeep crash rises to seven

The death toll from the jeep accident in Rukum West has reached seven as of Friday night. Ten others were injured.
The Bolero jeep heading to Musikot Khalanga from Syalkhadi in Aathbiskot Municipality fell around 700 metres off the road at Lisne in ward 7 of Banfikot Rural Municipality, according to Police Inspector Hari Prasad Pun, information officer at the District Police Office, Rukum West.
The deceased have been identified as Kamala Oli, 30; Tekjung Budha, 16; Dilmaya Budha, 15; Manika Oli, 17; Sharmila BK, 18; and Gopal Oli, 22; all from ward 2 of Aathbiskot Municipality. One victim is yet to be identified.
Police said the injured were rescued and taken to the District Hospital in Salle for treatment.
