2 dead after a boulder fell on a tin-roofed hut

Two people in Jajarkot died on Thursday night when a rock fell on a tin-roofed hut where they were staying for nearly two years after being displaced by the earthquake in 2023.
Jajarkot Police informed that the victims were the two daughters of Nar Bahadur Budha of Tarpena in Kushe Rural Municipality-3, Jajarkot.
The victims were 16-year-old Chandra Budha and 20-year-old Sharmila Budha.
Police Inspector Hariram Dangi, Spokesperson of District Police Office Jajarkot said that Chandra died on the spot after being crushed by the rock and Sharmila died on the way while being taken to the health post for treatment.
According to him, the huge boulder fell on the hut at around 9 pm on Thursday.
The magnitude 6.4 earthquake that rocked the western part of Nepal killed over 150 people on November 3, 2023. A total of 48,517 families were in need of rehabilitation due to the disaster, according to the government assessment.
