Rukum West

A 29-year-old electricity worker died on Thursday night while repairing a power line in ward 4 of Musikot Municipality, Rukum West district.

According to the District Police Office Rukum West, Khim Bahadur Khadka of ward 3 in Sisne Rural Municipality in Rukum East was electrocuted around 10:30pm while climbing an electric pole to carry out maintenance work.

He was an employee at the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Rukum East Distribution Centre.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Pramesh Bista said Khadka had come for repair work after a power outage in Rukum East.

“After the incident, police, NEA staff, and locals recovered his body from the pole,” said Bista.

Police said the body has been taken to Salle District Hospital for a post-mortem.
