Man dies while fishing

A man died while attempting to fish using an electric current in the Sharada River in Salyan on Monday night, police said.
Santosh Bista, a resident of ward 7 in Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality, slipped on a rock and fell into the river, according to Police Inspector Resham Bahadur Khatri of the District Police Office, Salyan. He died on the way to the district hospital.
Police said Bista and four others had gone to the river near Shankhapark in Shankhamul to fish using electricity. The four men are in custody for questioning, and an investigation is ongoing.
Bista’s body has been sent to the district hospital for post-mortem.
