One more Covid-19 death reported, 121 new cases

Only a day after recording the first Covid-19 death breaking a 94-day streak in the country, the Health Ministry confirmed another Covid-19 death on Wednesday.

The last time the country witnessed Covid-19-related death was on January 7. The countrywide death toll has reached 12,022 since the pandemic began, the Health Ministry said.

Of the 620 PCR tests taken in the last 24 hours, 58 people tested positive.

Similarly, 63 people tested positive in a total of 1,757 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

The nationwide infection tally now stands at 1,002,072.

As of Tuesday, 6,025,347 PCR and 1,553,273 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

On Wednesday, 11 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another three were on ventilator support.

According to the ministry, 989,572 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 81 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 445.

Nepal on Tuesday had reported 74 new PCR-confirmed coronavirus cases. Likewise, 77 new PCR-confirmed coronavirus cases were reported on Monday.
