Nepal on Tuesday reported 509 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 987,737.

Similarly, 305 people tested positive in a total of 2,653 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Tuesday, 5,823,028 PCR and 1,284,938 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 2,762 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The country did not report any Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,968 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 970,625 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 299 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 5,144.

In the past 24 hours, 60 new infections were reported in Province 1, 35 in Madhes Province, 336 in Bagmati, 46 in Gandaki, 11 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and 18 in Sudurpaschim.

Nepal on Monday reported 632 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 496 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were recorded on Sunday and 292 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Saturday.
