Nepal on Sunday reported 496 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 986,596.

Similarly, 124 people tested positive in a total of 3,195 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Sunday, 5,816,581 PCR and 1,280,061 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 2,651 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The country reported one Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,967 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 970,062 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 297 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 4,567.

In the past 24 hours, 64 new infections were reported in Province 1, 10 in Madhes Province, 329 in Bagmati, 62 in Gandaki, 22 in Lumbini, two in Karnali and seven in Sudurpaschim.

Nepal on Saturday reported 292 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 391 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were reported on Friday and 524 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Thursday.
