Nepal reports 224 new Covid-19 cases, four deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,594 and the number of active cases stands at 4,879.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 224 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 828,431.
Similarly, 11 people tested positive in a total of 1,199 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,859,355 PCR and 813,998 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,885 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported four Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,594. The number of active cases stands at 4,879.
According to the ministry, 811,958 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 212 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 154 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 114 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 32 in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 20 new infections were recorded in Province 1, eight in Province 2, 165 in Bagmati, 19 in Gandaki, eight in Lumbini, one in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim.
On Friday, 89 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 24—three in Province 1, 20 in Bagmati and one in Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 235 new coronavirus cases and no fatality. Similarly, 209 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Wednesday and 241 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Tuesday.
