Nepal reports 241 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,588 and the number of active cases stands at 4,910.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 241 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 827,763.
Similarly, 23 people tested positive in a total of 4,030 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 4,838,223 PCR and 809,541 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,536 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,588. The number of active cases stands at 4,910.
According to the ministry, 811,265 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 260 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 149 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 112 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 29 in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 30 new infections were recorded in Province 1, four in Province 2, 169 in Bagmati, 14 in Gandaki, 17 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim.
On Tuesday, 84 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 22—three in Province 1 and 19 in Bagmati—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 251 new coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 213 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Sunday and 157 new coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Saturday.
