Nepal reports 157 new Covid-19 cases, one death
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,583 and the number of active cases stands at 4,978.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 157 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 827,058.
Similarly, 10 people tested positive in a total of 2,164 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 4,813,350 PCR and 801,285 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,283 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,583. The number of active cases stands at 4,978.
According to the ministry, 810,497 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 226 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 98 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 68 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 26 in Lalitpur and four in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 10 new infections were recorded in Province 1, five in Province 2, 112 in Bagmati, six in Gandaki, 12 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and 11 in Sudurpaschim.
On Saturday, 81 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 22—six in Province 1, 14 in Bagmati and one each in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 237 new coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 241 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Thursday and 217 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Wednesday.
