Nepal reports 217 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,579 and the number of active cases stands at 5,185.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 217 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 826,423.
Similarly, 19 people tested positive in a total of 4,043 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,791,497 PCR and 793,167 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,266 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,579. The number of active cases stands at 5,185.
According to the ministry, 809,659 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 272 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 125 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 76 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 36 in Lalitpur and 13 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 30 new infections were recorded in Province 1, five in Province 2, 151 in Bagmati, 11 in Gandaki, eight in Lumbini and 12 in Sudurpaschim.
On Wednesday, 92 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 27—four in Province 1, 21 in Bagmati and one each in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 252 new coronavirus cases and three deaths. Similarly, 218 new coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Monday and 133 new coronavirus cases and one death were recorded on Sunday.
