Nepal reports 218 new Covid-19 cases, one death
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,574 and the number of active cases stands at 5,225.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 218 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 825,954.
Similarly, two people tested positive in a total of 1,416 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 4,771,758 PCR and 784,508 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 2,725 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,574. The number of active cases stands at 5,225.
According to the ministry, 809,155 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 263 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 129 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 89 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 33 in Lalitpur and seven in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 14 new infections were recorded in Province 1, nine in Province 2, 147 in Bagmati, 33 in Gandaki, eight in Lumbini, one in Karnali and six in Sudurpaschim.
On Monday, 109 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 27—three in Province 1, 22 in Bagmati and one each in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 133 new coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 158 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Saturday and 269 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were reported on Friday.
