Nepal reports 133 new Covid-19 cases, one death
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,573 and the number of active cases stands at 5,271.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 133 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 825,736.
Similarly, 48 people tested positive in a total of 5,041 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Sunday, 4,769,033 PCR and 783,092 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,831 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,573. The number of active cases stands at 5,271.
According to the ministry, 808,892 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 289 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 83 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 64 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 13 in Lalitpur and six in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 15 new infections were recorded in Province 1, four in Province 2, 84 in Bagmati, 15 in Gandaki, 13 in Lumbini and two in Karnali.
On Sunday, 100 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 26—four in Province 1, 20 in Bagmati, one each in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 158 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 269 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were reported on Friday and 160 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Thursday.
